The Crescent Moon of the Month of Dhul-Qa’dah, 1436

To the respected believers in North America,

Peace be upon you.

The Moon-Sighting Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America announces that Monday, August 17, 2015 will be the first day of the month of Dhul-Qa’dah, 1436, for the entire region of North America.

This is based on no reports of verified sightings of the crescent moon at sunset on Saturday, August 15, 2015, in any region in North America. Thus, Sunday is considered the last day of Shawwal.

We ask Allah (swt) to accept our fasting and good deeds during the holy month and to hasten the Return of Our Master, Imam Mahdi (ajfs).

The Moon-Sighting Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America announces that Saturday, July 18, 2015 will be the first day of the month of Shawwal, 1436, for the entire region of North America.



This is based on no reports of verified sightings of the crescent moon at sunset on Thursday, July 16, 2015, in any region in North America. Thus, Friday is considered the last day of Ramadan.

We ask Allah (swt) to accept our fasting and good deeds during the holy month and to hasten the Return of Our Master, Imam Mahdi (ajfs).

          The Moon-Sighting Committee of The Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America announces that Thursday, June 18, 2015 will be the first day of the month of Ramadan, 1436, for the entire region of the United States and Canada.

This is based on reports of verified sightings of the crescent moon at sunset on Wednesday, June 17, in many regions of the United States.

We ask Allah (swt) for success in performing good deeds in this holy month and to hasten the Return of Our Master, Imam Mahdi (ajfs).

The Moon-Sighting Committee of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America announces that Wednesday, May 20, 2015 will be the first day of the month of Shaban, 1436, for the entire region of North America.

This is based no reports of verified sightings of the crescent moon at sunset on Monday, May 18, 2015, in any region in North America. Thus, Tuesday is considered the last day of Rajab.

 

We ask Allah (swt) for success in performing good deeds and to hasten the Return of Our Master, Imam Mahdi (ajfs).
