Allah, the Exalted, says in the Holy Quran:
“And among His signs is that He created for you from yourselves spouses that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed, in that are signs for people who reflect.”
In response to the needs of the Muslim community across North America, and in support of imams and clergy engaged in family and social services, the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America offers the service of arranging and documenting Islamic marriage contracts in full accordance with Islamic jurisprudence.
These contract models were developed through the contributions of scholars and attorneys at the 10th Annual Conference of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America. Their aim is to help organize family matters, promote marital stability, and minimize the risk of future disputes. Two formats are available:
Applicants may choose whichever format best suits their circumstances. The application forms for both options are provided below through the attached links.
Please note: this service pertains only to the religious contract. Couples are still required to register their marriage with the appropriate civil authorities in their county for legal recognition.
We extend our warmest wishes to all applicants for a blessed and harmonious marriage.
