بيان مجلس علماء المسلمين الشيعة في أمريكا الشمالية بخصوص ارتحال المرجع الديني الكبير سماحة آية الله العظمى السيد محمد سعيد الحكيم (قدّس سرّه)

The Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America offers its deepest condolences to God’s guardian on the earth, His proof, and the master of our time (may God hasten his reappearance), to the Islamic seminaries, and the scholars and jurists who represent them, especially Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatullah al-Sayyid Ali al-Husseini al-Sistani, and to all the believers in North America and across the world, on the passing of the eminent jurist and religious authority Grand Ayatullah al-Sayyid Mohammed Saeed al-Hakeem (may his station be raised). He returned to his Mighty Lord on Friday the 25th of Muharram 1443 on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Ali ibn al-Hussain al-Sajjad (p), the 3rd of September 2021.  Al-Sayyid al-Hakeem (may God be pleased with him) was one of the great Muslim scholars who enriched the Islamic Seminary with his immense knowledge. He struggled against and resisted the oppressors and was imprisoned for many years along with a large number of his family and students. Moreover, he (may God have mercy on him) was a mujahid and a scholar, and a tireless worker who never tired from learning, teaching, and training others, even while he was in prison. He personally taught and graduated many scholars, preachers and speakers (who are now found in various parts of the world) during the period of imprisonment, as well as the rest of the students who were acquainted with him before and after that difficult period.    May God bestow His mercy on our dear departed Sayyid, his departure from this life means the Islamic world lost an eminent jurist, loving father, and a protector of Muslims and a patron of their affairs. We ask God Almighty to grant him the highest rank next to the Prophet and his holy family, to bestow patience and reward upon his family, students, lovers, followers and all the believers, and to prolong the lives of our scholars and jurists, and extend their sagacious guidance over His servants, for He is All-Hearing and Most-Responsive. There is no power or strength except in God Almighty.  On behalf of the Council of Shia Muslim Scholars of North America Sayyid Muhammad Rizvi - General Secretary
